Eventually he realised that all these things aren't as easy as he thought it would be and natural talent isn't everything in the culinary world so he had to learn from his classmates and other distinguished chefs in order to improve himself. His true goal however is to beat his father in a food war and truly become the number one chef and inherent his family restaurant Yukihira. He spent his days at Tōtsuki trying not to get expelled by not failing classes and challenging other students to food wars, which were basically cooking battles to determine who was the better chef. Sōma upon arrival declared his goal of climbing the ranks and becoming number one at his school much to the displeasure of his classmates and members of the elite ten council, students who were the top chefs at the school. He worked at his father's restaurant before attending the world class cooking institute known as Totsuki culinary academy where he learnt that his father, Jouichirou Yukihira was a famous alumni. Win - Sōma was reluctantly forgiven by Erina.Sōma is the main protagonist in Shokugeki no Soma and a very talented chef with a will to never give up until he's mastered whatever dish he's preparing and beaten his fellow rivals. Win: Erina would forgive Sōma for playing truancy. This simple dish has made the Tōtsuki Princess stumble and resulted the Yukihira Genius's victory. Add in burnt soy sauce rice, garlic, and onions and the resulting dish creates an amazing taste which feels like one is being caressed and tickled by angels. Tamago Kake Gohan - Infusing numerous spices into nothing more than plain eggs while keeping the yolks raw. Regardless, he went into the class where interrupted Erina's smugness of her well made dishes. The failure would prompt him to laugh at his own blunder. Little known about this version of Sōma, but he is seen somewhere in school grounds to test his latest dish, which he ultimately failed. He shows great care and interest for food, but like his canon counterpart, he feels that a perfect dish using nothing but perfect ingredients limits a chef's potential. He has more of a drifter/wanderer mentality similar to Jōichirō Yukihira. This version of Sōma is much more relaxed and carefree. When cooking he wears a Jinbei and ties a white headband just like his canon counterpart.

Contrast to his canon counterpart, Sōma does not wear his signature headband around his wrist. He is also wears a black jacket over a white undershirt and long pants.

Sōma is almost exactly the same as his canon version except for the fact that his hair is black instead of crimson red.
